    Yes - death just seems too mundane for him, he should be above all that crap. The world seems different already.

    I hope they say "ashes to ashes, funk to funky" at his funeral.

    He had a talent for bringing out stuff that was not only great, but was different to everything around at the time of release. Hunky Dory, followed by Aladdin Sane immediately springs to mind. Then Scary Monsters and Super Creeps in 1980.

    A true great in the music world.

    Loaded up my headphones with Bowie tracks, and went on a run around the old haunts in Beckenham and Bromley earlier.


    A sad day, but a great one as well.

    I have over 700 songs on my iPod and it is set to random and the first song it played this morning was Ziggy Stardust, spooky. I then set it to Bowie for both my walk to and from home today, I had a little tear in my eye when I listened to Starman
