So, already it has started. Last night and the previous night the BBC 24hr news devoted hours of coverage to a flame being lit. I kept switching over to the news to find some OTT reporter (in a horrible red coat) going on about the `plane is only 40 minutes away, or it's only 25 minutes away.

FFS!!!!!!!!!! So there is nothing at all to see for the hours of coverage they did! The `plane lands and the entire "ceremony" is over in about three minutes. But does it end there? Does it hell!! On and on and fucking on, interviewing people about how they feel about a flame being lit. Hours of pointless crap.

And this is only the start.:rah:

Anyone know much about them? After mum's heart attack, she's developed cataracts. They don't think it's because of her meds, but it's degenerating fast. She was diagnosed with them in Feb, and has had to have her glasses changed 3 times since. Today she was told she is not legally fit to drive anymore. They've told her it's a 6 month wait for a consultant appointment, then up to 2 years til you get the op, and they'll only do one eye on the NHS.

Is this normal in England? or is it just Wales that seems shite? They told mum that if she can find �2000 they can get the worst eye done within weeks. So she's now trying to liquidate some assets to get the cash together, as not driving isn't on.

Just wondered if any of you had experience?
