Sorry, I've seen the film Solaris but can't say the name without singing 'Volaire' (oh-oh) etc.
Ta for the heads up about Timeline, I have that on my shelf and was looking at it and pondering whether to start it last night. Might give it a go.

I know. I picked up the book from someone I met in some random island in Thailand & couldn't put it down. I was so looking forward to the movie & couldn't believe how shit it was. It had the potential to be such a biggie

I'm now looking for her othetr book, The Return.

I tried to read that Pickle but just couldn't get into it. If a book hasn't 'grabbed me' by the first chapter I can't go on.
